Huston-Tillotson International Alumni Association Rampack Give Back

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

In commemoration of Derrick Lewis II Day (August 9th), the Rampack Give Back program was launched in 2019 in collaboration with HTYA (Huston - Tillotson Young Alum). During its inaugural year, the program encouraged both new and old alumni to contribute financially or by giving a lightly used item to the cause. Over 100 care packages and ten dorm safe appliances were delivered as a consequence. With the success of the inaugural project, the intention is to make this an annual fundraiser to help the next generation of student leaders coming to our cherished alma university. WHY A RAM PACK GIVE BACK

Providing students with $3,000 in essential items contributes to a strong atmosphere for student and academic achievement. Students should not have to worry about supplies or struggle to obtain necessary materials to care for themselves at home. We are all aware that if your home is in order, your entire life will follow suit. This tiny investment has a significant impact on our University's future leaders. The long-term objective is to make this a yearly fundraiser to assist new students and establish a student success closet on campus where students can access supplies as required. In collaboration with student affairs, this program will also give students an educational experience that includes alumni.

Essentials

• Deodorant, Detergent, toilet paper, feminine products, toothpaste, etc.

Academics

• Pencils, pens, erasers, notebooks, legal paper, highlighters, sticky notes, etc.

Dorm Appliances ( Drop off gently used items)

• TV, refrigerator, dorm safe and approved appliances, iron, steamer, ironing board, etc

Educational Experiences

• Monthly alumni engagement with students providing professional/ leadership experiences & sessions
