Greetings, Fellow Huston-Tillotson University Alumni,

As a proud Class of 1976 graduate, I am honored to serve as your new point of contact for all things related to the alumni community. My time at HT, majoring in Sociology and History, laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to the values of knowledge, service, and community. Although, I practiced these core principles professionally for over 34 years - as I journeyed through the world of IT, my heart always remained with
our beloved alma mater.

Over the next two years, I am committed to revitalizing our newsletter and strengthening the bond between all alumni, whether you graduated last year or several decades ago. Here are the primary goals for our alumni network moving forward:

1.Building a Comprehensive Alumni Database. We are starting fresh, and one of our
first priorities is creating a robust database of alumni contact information. By
gathering up-to-date details in one place, we can ensure that all alumni are
connected no matter where we are in the world.
2.Publishing a Monthly Newsletter. Share events, updates, and timelines to keep
alumni informed and engaged.
3.Fostering Connections Between Generations of Alumni– Bridge Generations. Our
alumni community spans over 150 years of proud history, and it is time we unite
the generations—old and new. I am passionate about creating opportunities for
both recent graduates and seasoned alumni to collaborate through service
projects, mentorship, and events that bring all of us together to make a lasting
impact.
4.Increasing Engagement and Support for the University– Boost University Support.
Strengthen HT’s legacy through active alumni involvement—events, volunteering,
expertise, and giving. Our contributions will help ensure the continued success and
growth of our institution.
5.Growing Chapters & Leaders. Equip chapters with resources, onboarding, and
succession planning to build strong leadership.

As we re-establish our newsletter, I want to emphasize that it is your space - a place to stay informed, connect with others, and inspire future generations. Together, we can build something that will endure for years to come.
